“Third image” is precisely at the intersection, at the crossroads that blurs authorships, materials dialogue and visions about the environment, the micro and the macro appear. Collection, experiments and associations are ways of learning with the eyes and hands.
Think of photography as a place we inhabit and that inhabits us. Or: moving photography to a space that does not have the exclusive function of communicating or expressing but imposing a beyond that is the history and position we take in front of it.
Understanding photography from this perspective implies observing subjects and landscapes indistinctly, taking the image to a terrain where the distance that separates both things is revealed. Whether by collecting natural fibers and processed objects, or by directing a work that consists of walking, touching, collecting and rubbing media of diverse nature, what these pieces do is fixing a light that modifies the memory of the objects.
To think, then, of the study of light as a way of delimiting space, of giving a somewhat oblique approach to it practice: a way of talking about these authors, their history and concerns; an effort, finally, to grasp something that belongs to experience, not at the level of its distant reflections, but at the heart of its emergence.
